It has come to our attention that some unnecessary and hurtful comments have been posted on the Cuttle Brook Nature Reserve's Facebook page. These comments have been directed at the dedicated volunteers, who originally initiated the creation of the Nature Reserve, and have been tirelessly managing it on behalf of Thame Town Council for over 30 years.
We would like to take this opportunity to express our full support for these volunteers and their invaluable contributions to maintaining and enhancing the beauty of Cuttle Brook Nature Reserve. Their hard work has been instrumental in making the reserve a thriving haven for local wildlife and a cherished green space for our community.
We strongly believe that it is unacceptable to abuse or attack these volunteers on social media or through any other means. Such behaviour is not only hurtful but also counterproductive to the collaborative efforts aimed at preserving and improving the reserve.
If residents have concerns or questions about the recent work at Cuttle Brook, including the creation of new wetland habitats, we encourage them to address these through proper channels by contacting Thame Town Council directly. This ensures that all concerns are heard and can be addressed constructively.
In response to recent events, we are organising an extraordinary council meeting to provide updates on the works carried out and to address any issues raised.
This meeting will include:
- A presentation from the River Thame Conservation Trust
- An update on the recent works and issues that have been raised

Meanwhile, Thame Town Council remains committed to supporting the volunteers and the continued preservation and proper management of Cuttle Brook. We appreciate the community's understanding and cooperation as we work together to maintain this valuable natural asset.
