30th January 2025
Thame Mayor, Councillor Andy Gilbert, will be seeking answers from Oxfordshire County Council on progress with the long-promised and long-delayed plans for an active travel route to Haddenham & Thame Parkway station when he attends a meeting of OCC's Place Overview and Scrutiny Committee on Wednesday 5th February.
The Committee will be examining the County's emerging new rail strategy prior to a major report to OCC's Cabinet in April. Having good means of access to a local station - including by cycling, walking or wheeling - will be one aspect of the strategy.
The Mayor will ask for an update on the feasibility work commissioned jointly by Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Councils over two years ago. He will be accompanied by members of the Thame-Haddenham Greenway group.
The meeting starts at 10am. It's open to the public and will be held in County Hall, Oxford. For more information, please visit: https://mycouncil.oxfordshire.gov.uk/ieListMeetings.aspx?CommitteeId=1173 .
