You may have noticed that the trees in the Upper High Street car park have been trimmed. One tree had excessive decay at multiple points throughout the crown. In addition, some of these tree risk features were located within the crown's unions. This could of been a contributing factor in the limb which fell into the road in March, as the integrity of the union may have been compromised. With these risk features observed a decision was made by Oxfordshire County Council to reduce the tree to its current height which removed these areas of decay and created a new structural pollard from which the subsequent regrowth can be maintained.
