After nearly 50 years teaching in Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire, Mrs. Charlton is retiring.
Mrs. Charlton started teaching in 1973 at Southcourt Primary in Aylesbury where she finished in 1975.
She had a break and then began teaching again in 1983 at Queensdown Nursery in Thame until 1993. Later that year, she joined John Hampden Primary School where she contributed so much to the Thame community.
In 2009, when Tetsworth Primary School was close to closing and at record low numbers of students, John Hampden Primary School agreed to federating with them. Mrs. Charlton was sent to become Head of Learning at Tetsworth Primary School and she retires this summer with the school at 70+ students.
A great achievement from a person who has given so much to her local community.
