Town Awards now open!

Thame Town Awards are back and it's time to celebrate our local unsung heroes who go out of their way for others to make our community a safer, more vibrant and happier place to live. Do you know someone who lives, works, studies, or contributes to life in Thame that deserves a Town Award? If so, nominate them! You can make your nomination online via the Town Council’s website (www.thametowncouncil.gov.uk/community/town-awards), or collect a form from the Town Hall.

Nominations are welcome in the following categories:
COMPANY OF THE YEAR
A local company that has gone the extra mile for the wider community e.g. supporting community initiatives, offering opportunities and practicing sustainability. (Companies can nominate themselves for this award)

CREATIVE ARTS CONTRIBUTION
Someone of any age who excels in the Creative Arts and/or has contributed to the creativity of our town.

SERVICE WITH A SMILE
A business or individual that consistently provides a faultless and friendly service.

SPORTING CONTRIBUTION
Someone of any age who has shown great dedication to a sport and/or contributed to local sports / fitness for the benefit of the community.

VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR
An individual who selflessly gives their time to help others in our community.

VOLUNTEER GROUP OF THE YEAR
A volunteer group or organisation that has made a positive difference to our community. Nominations open today (21 April) and close on Thursday 26 May. Haddenham Park Care Home: Stroke UK Meet & Move
Join the Stroke UK Meet & Move monthly support group for stroke survivors and their caregivers. Hosted as part of the Stroke Association support network, each session offers helpful information, resources, and a welcoming community. Stroke survivors can take part in a 45–60 minute exercise class led by a qualified instructor, while caregivers can enjoy coffee and social time in the piano lounge and connect with others. When: Last Tuesday of every month, 11:00am–12:00pm (starting 28 July 2026)Where: Haddenham Park Care Home & Apartments, Tibbs Road, Haddenham, Buckinghamshire, HP17 8FH A supportive space to stay active, share experiences, and meet others affected by stroke.

Join this free monthly support group for people living with Parkinson's and their caregivers. Held on the first Monday of every month from 11:00am–12:00pm, the session includes a gentle, physiotherapist-led exercise class for participants with Parkinson's, while caregivers can enjoy coffee, cake and the opportunity to connect with others in a relaxed, supportive environment.
