A LOCAL opticians is sharing the love ahead of Valentine’s Day (Monday 14 February) by offering you the chance to win a luxury hamper while raising funds for the British Heart Foundation.
Specsavers on the High Street in Thame is running a raffle to win the hamper, filled with gifts including chocolate and wine, between now and Friday 11 February.
Tickets are available in store for a suggested donation of £2 with the lucky winner being drawn on Saturday 12 February. All donations will go to the British Heart Foundation – a charity which funds vital research into heart diseases, stroke and vascular dementia as well as their risk factors like diabetes.
‘Whether you’re spending Valentine’s with a partner or on your own, we wanted to share the love for this day – so offering the chance to win a hamper while raising funds for the British Heart Foundation seemed like the ideal combination,’ comments Specsavers Thame store director, Neil Perry.
‘It’s staggering to see just how much of a killer heart disease is in the UK, so the work that the British Heart Foundation does really is vital. We hope people support us in our fundraising efforts.’
In line with guidance from the NHS, Specsavers is keeping safety measures in place, including the wearing of face coverings, unless there is a medical exemption. This includes maintaining social distancing in stores, continuing to use PPE and sanitising all testing equipment and frames before and after each use.
Doors will be kept open whenever possible to improve ventilation and although card payments are still preferred, cash payments will be accepted too.
Specsavers will also continue to operate its Ask The Expert chat function on its website and its RemoteCare service, which enable customers to speak to an expert from the comfort of their home via video call or phone.
