On Wednesday 4 August the brand new Grass nets were opened by Mayor, Paul Cowell, and our MP, John Howell. This was immediately before the Summer Holiday Cricket Camp which was a great success and ran over 3 days.
The grass nets are the ideal place to practice before playing matches as the wickets are specially designed to play like a main square. There are 6 new grass pitches which means the kids can practice in several different kinds of pitches; slow, fast or even a turning track! These are great new facilities for local kids to use and enjoy.
