Kate Gregory and Morgan James have joined forces to challenge the current administration by standing on a joint ticket in the Oxfordshire County Council elections on 6th May.
Both candidates have shared values about the environment, equality and diversity, and would love the opportunity to represent the local community and be a new and positive voice for Thame and Chinnor.
Kate lives in Thame with her husband and 2 children.
She is currently both a Town and District Councillor and runs her own business in Thame.
Kate has often caught the train from Haddenham and feels a cycle route between Thame and Haddenham is vital. “Every time I drive to the station and see cyclists making their way in the dark I am terrified for them – it’s so dangerous”
Kate feels very passionately about children’s centres and knows how important they are to new parents. After funding was pulled by Oxfordshire County Council in 2016, the Red Kite Centre has run as a charity and their future is always uncertain, Kate used the centre in Thame weekly when her children were young and feels it’s important that we have councillors that are committed to finding funding for children’s centres.
Morgan lives and works for a charity in Thame.
Working with volunteers and customers from Thame, Chinnor, and the surrounding area gives Morgan a unique insight into the concerns of local residents. He has a strong sense of equity and social justice. He was a teacher for many years, so education and empowering people to develop themselves is something he feels passionate about.
Morgan is married and became a father for the first time at the start of March. He believes that cleaner air, safer roads, and more investment in education are vital if our children are to grow up to achieve their full potential. Our current councillors are not offering this, while Labour alone is not strong enough to offer a challenge here. This means the Greens and the Lib Dems working together are the only option for a brighter, greener future for Thame and Chinnor.
Both Kate & Morgan will be out knocking on doors and listening to what the people of Thame and Chinnor want.
