As at the end of March over 6000 patients registered at The Rycote Practice had received their first Covid-19 vaccination. Over 1300 patients have also received their second Covid-19 vaccination. Uptake of the vaccine remains extremely high but we are struggling to reach a small number patients who have not responded to calls to book a vaccination appointment. If you are over 50 or have an underlying health condition and have not yet received your first dose, please contact the practice so that we can arrange your appointment. If you wish to decline the vaccine, please let us know so that we can record this on your notes and stop chasing you.
We are holding further vaccination clinics on 9, 16 and 20 April. In these clinics we will be offering patients who received their first dose in January and early February a second dose. If you are offered a second vaccination appointment we would strongly encourage you to take it as we cannot guarantee when the next vaccine delivery will be to complete your immunisation course. In April we will also ensure that anyone in Cohort 1-9 (over 50 or with a long term condition) who has yet to receive their first dose is offered an appointment. When attending your vaccination appointment please arrive as close as possible to the time of your appointment, wear a mask and short sleeved clothing so that we can ensure you are vaccinated promptly.
We have agreed to continue to participate in the vaccination programme for Cohorts 10 – 12 (Under 50s) and are awaiting permission from NHS England to start inviting people in. Thank you for your continued support and messages of appreciation – it means a great deal to the team who are working considerable additional hours in order to roll out the vaccination programme as quickly as possible.
