Pre season ends with a win for the Red Kites

*** FT - Thame United 5 - 1 Thame Rangers ***

Thame United Goals - Goss 15, Blake 25, 45 and 56, Smith 62

This was the final pre season game for the Red Kites. This week has also saw a few new faces sign for the 2020/21 season.

The Red Kites dominated possession and chances in the first half. Goss' hard work in this match and in pre season finally paid off when he got the opener. He fired from the edge of the box which struck the post and went in. The visitors got a rare chance and took it with a great finish to the left of Rackley. It didn't take long until Thame United got back in front with Ryan Blake with more goals this pre season. The third was a gift when the GK and defender clashed into each other with Blake taking advantage with a tap in.

One slight scare was Goss having to go off with a knock which was a precautionary substitution. Thame United made a handful of chances at half time.

The second half saw more dominance by the Red Kites and Ryan Blake netted a hat trick inside one hour. The young Jamar Smith put in a fine performance and bagged one himself with a shot hit across the goal leaving the GK no chance.

It was a difficult afternoon for the visitors against a side two divisions higher in the football pyramid.

Final preparations will take place during the week ahead of the away cup tie next Saturday at Kidlington. Thame will have to monitor Lynton Goss's injury in the coming days.
