"It was fantastic!" "Amazing!" "I’m so glad I went!"
These were just some of the comments from the members of Thame Inner Wheel Club and their friends after their recent visit to the Mini plant in Oxford. It was quite mind boggling to watch a new Mini roll off the production line every 3 minutes, largely put together by robots and made to order in the colour and with the number of accessories ordered by each individual customer.
The Inner Wheel Club of Thame was formed nearly 50 years ago as a club for the wives of Rotarians. However, they are no longer so closely linked to Rotary and would welcome anyone who would like to join them. The group meet on the first Monday of every month at 6.30 for 7.00 pm at the Spread Eagle Hotel in Thame. They begin with a meal which is usually followed by a Speaker on a variety of topics or by discussion on forthcoming activities and outings. Friendship and fun are the main purposes of the Club but they also go on outings and undertake a number of activities in order to raise funds for local, national and international charities.
