Matt Williams declared himself pleased with Chinnor’s first run-out of pre-season at the Rams Festival on Saturday.
Thirteen tries were scored as the side beat hosts Rams 31-19 and Bournemouth 48-7 in two 60-minute matches.
It acted as the perfect way for the majority of the squad to put nine weeks of pre-season training into practice.
With just over a fortnight to go until Chinnor begin their National League 1 campaign at Blackheath on September 7, director of rugby Williams was encouraged by the early signs.
He said: “It was good.
“Two 60-minute games, 33 boys got a hit out, and our structures went well.
“We made a few individual errors but that was to be expected, because the boys were excited to have a game of rugby.
“Overall, I’m very pleased.”
Chinnor now turn their attention to this weekend’s fixture at Championship side London Scottish, before they host Carmarthen Quins in their final and only home friendly on Saturday, August 31.
