After doing the League and Cup double, Thame boys U13’s has had an extraordinary season and are literally on top of their game, but there was one title that has evaded them for the last seven years - The Thame Tournament.
The Thame tournament 8/9 June was the one they wanted above all the others, to win at home would be the icing on the cake.
With two teams entered on both sides of the table, the inevitable Thame vs Thame semi-final took place. It was as expected an equally matched 0-0 draw at the end of extra time. The penalty shootout went to sudden death with the Thame U13 goalkeeper Lewis Moore-Hodgkinson up for the shot; he didn't disappoint.
A Thame Boys vs Stoke Mandeville final was another closely fought contest which was brought to an end with a cross from Hayden Beadle onto striker Theo Ransby’s head, top corner 1-0 and it’s a done deal.
The boys, coaches, parents and supporters are understandably over the moon, the boys have done what they set out to do, and you can’t ask more than that.
Massive congratulations to manager Jimmy Key and the players for what has been an extraordinary season.
