The classical concert is in St. Mary's Church with a programme that takes us from Bach to Broadway via Chopin, Rachmaninov, Mozart, Puccini to Gershwin, Cole Porter and more. We are thrilled that the we have managed to get Internationally renowned soprano Ann MacKay and world class piano phenomenon Jack Gibbons.

Ann Mackay trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and with Elisabeth Schwarzkopf.

Early successes included winning the first Concert Artist's Guild of America Award, the National Federation of Music Societies Award, and an Olivier Award for Outstanding Performance in Opera, presented by Dame Joan Sutherland.

Orchestras she has appeared with include the Royal Philharmonic, London Symphony,BBC Symphony,BBC Scottish Symphony,Bournemouth Symphony,English Chamber Orchestra,London Mozart Players,City of London Symphony,Royal Liverpool Philharmonic,Academy of St Martin's in the Field, and the BBC Concert Orchestra.

She has toured extensively in Europe (European Community Chamber Orchestra)Australia (Sydney Opera House)and America( Carnegie Hall).

With Ann is Jack Gibbons, the world's leading interpreter of Gershwin.

"Jack Gibbons is a unique phenomenon in the musical world of today. Thanks to his virtuosic skills Gibbons can hold an audience in thrall. His concert-giving style is equally attractive: before his performances he talks unassumingly but with great authority from the platform, drawing the listeners into a special relationship."

Humphrey Burton, former Head of Music and Arts, BBC and former Artistic Director, Barbican Centre for the Performing Arts, London.

Jack is flying in from the US.

This is world class stuff.

You are warmly invited to attend Death Cafe in Thame. at 7:30pm in room 1 of the Barns Centre, and held on the third Thursday of each month thereafter A Death Cafe is an informal gathering where people can discuss death over tea and cake. We’re aiming to normalise the topic of death, raise acceptance, and help people make the most of their lives by breaking the taboo around mortality. It is not a grief support group or counselling session. These sessions have no agenda, objectives, or themes, allowing for organic, group-directed conversations about anything related to death, from end-of-life planning to fears and feelings, fostering open sharing in a respectful, confidential space. Death Cafe is run on a not-for-profit basis but if you are able to make…
