18th July 2024
Tonight (18 July), six local residents will be honoured for their contribution to the community at the annual Thame Town Awards.
Since 2009, Thame has been celebrating the people who work to make the town a safer, more vibrant, and happier place to live. This year, a record number of over 300 nominations were received in five categories – Company of the Year, Service with a Smile, Creative Arts Contribution, Sporting Contribution, and Volunteer of the Year.
Six panellists were charged with the difficult task of deciding the winners. They included representatives from Grace Church Thame, Citizens Advice, Thame Fire Station, Chinnor RFC, Lord Williams’s School, and Thame Town Council.
Thame Mayor, Cllr Andy Gilbert will also present a Special Award to a person of his choosing – someone who the Mayor believes has made a significant and lasting contribution to Thame.
The winners names will be posted on Thame Town Council’s social media sites on Friday, and we will feature all of the winners in next week’s newsletter.
