Free networking event in Chinnor

The perfect opportunity for entrepreneurs to get some free business advice is coming up in Chinnor at the newly opened White’s Windmill Café.

Oxfordshire Business Enterprises (OBE) are holding an informal networking session on Saturday 27 October aimed at people considering starting their own business or expanding their existing business – there’s no need to book, anyone can just come along from 10am to midday.

South Oxfordshire District Council provides support and advice to local businesses to help them grow and help make links to free advisory groups such as OBE.

Everyone is welcome to the café to chat with OBE Advisors, who will be on hand to explain how its free service helps and advises small business owners.

Owners of the café, Lisa and Dee, have opened their doors for event to tell people how the OBE enabled them to fulfil their own ambition to become a successful community-based business.

Cllr Paul Harrison, cabinet member for Development and Regeneration at South Oxfordshire District Council, said, “We support businesses of all sizes and help business owners to network and provide each other free expert advice.  We urge those with a new business idea to go along and find out more.”

Cllr Lynn Lloyd, local district councillor for Chinnor, said, “I’m really pleased that OBE are coming to Chinnor to hold a business networking event.  The café only opened earlier this year and is a fitting example of how a local business can put the community at the heart of what they do.”

Martin Herbert from OBE said: “Everyone I’ve met since becoming an advisor has had a unique proposition – I’m constantly amazed by the diversity of ideas.  One thing they all have in common is the desire to see their ideas come to fruition and I am delighted to have helped some fulfil their ambitions.  I am especially proud to have helped Lisa and Dee, who have been so well organised, focused and determined, and they are such lovely people too.”
