Thame Town Cricket Club sign Shahbaz Meer

Thame Town Cricket Club is delighted to announce that experienced coach and batsman, Shahbaz Meer, has joined the Club.

Previously with Upminster CC, ‘Shabz’ is an English qualified cricketer and UKCC Level 2 coach, and has undertaken mid-week training and coaching for several years. With the completion of their  top-class nets facilities at Church Meadow, the club has been looking to boost it’s coaching resources, and Shabz will add to and help manage the roster of club coaches during the 2020 season.

He comes with an impressive cricketing record, having scored over 1,000 runs for Upminster’s First XI in 2019, and being their leading batsman for several seasons. He has played professionally in Bangladesh and semi-professionally in Pakistan before he moved to England ten years ago. An excellent addition to Thame’s 1st XI, who gained promotion to the Home Counties Premier League Division 1 at the end of last season.
