Station Road, Haddenham re-opens following bale blaze

As of 10:00am Station Road in Haddenham has now re-opened following the fire that occurred yesterday.

Around 120 bales of miscanthus (commonley known as elephant grass) were on fire yesterday. One appliance and crew from Haddenham, one from Waddesdon, two from Oxfordshire and two officers attended the scene.

Firefighters used a jet, a hose reel and a water tanker to tackle the blaze.

Yesterday afternoon the National Police Air Service tweeted that they had located 9 people thought to be involved with the fire and Thames Valley Police Aylesbury Vale had detained them.

It is not yet known if any arrests were made.
