The second highest ASM Stadium attendance ever saw Oxford United beat Thame United 2 – 0

Attendance 841 – Second highest ever at the ASM Stadium. 

There was a great buzz at the ASM Stadium with Thame’s U9s acting as mascots and ball boys/girls. It was also great to see the U’s bring a strong squad to play the Red Kites. This was a solid display on the field even more so when this was Thame’s first match of 2019/20. There was some positive performances from a number of Thame’s players.

For example Craig Hill made a number of great saves in the first half much to the U’s frustration. Also Noah Alabi put in a great debut performance on the wing. There were some great moments of football played from the trialists on show. Captain Ben Sturgess worked extremely hard in midfield against a talented Oxford United midfield.

Massive credit must go to all at Thame Football for getting the stadium ready for the day. Also there was alot of hard work from everyone on the day to make it such a success!

Goals from Gavin Whyte and Rob Hall sealed a 2-0 win for the U’s as Oxford United’s pre-season began to gather pace. A Whyte penalty and a clever goal from the fit again Hall capped another decent display in which almost the whole squad got game time.

Thame United are away on Saturday 13/7/19 to Brackley Town Saints.Thame United also host Oxford City Tuesday evening 16/7/19.

Where as Oxford United move on to Brackley Town on Thursday evening 11/7/19.

Summer Street Market @ cobbles around the Town Hall
Following the successful World Village Market in April, Thame will be hosting a new market this month on the cobbles around the Town Hall. The Summer Street Market will be making its debut in Thame from Friday 26th to Sunday 28th July, adding to the already plentiful calendar of events in the town centre. The traders will be offering a selection of world cooking, homemade foods, ethically trading clothes, eco-friendly crafts and unique gift ideas. During the market, a road closure will be in place on Buttermarket and on the area around the Town Hall. The bike stands by the Town Hall will also be closed.
