Have Your Say About A Public Space Protection Order In Thame

Please take a few minutes to complete this survey as Thames Valley Police would like to know your thoughts about the South Oxfordshire District Council’s proposal to introduce a Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) in Thame.
Please go to http://survey.southandvale.gov.uk/s/PSPO_Thame/ and click next on the first page to start the survey.

The order, if put in place, will mean that police are given discretionary powers to:
• Request people stop drinking alcohol, and confiscate it if they refuse
• Stop groups of people causing alarm, distress, harassment, or a nuisance in a public space
Fixed penalty notices of £100 could be issued to people who do not refrain from this behaviour when asked. We are proposing that the order would apply to people aged 18+.

The council and the police in Thame think that introducing this order will have a positive impact on the well-being on the local community.
Responses to this consultation need to be made by midnight Monday 20 November 2017. We will consider all feedback received when deciding whether or not to introduce the order.

Octocello returns to Thame @ St. Mary’s Church, Thame
Following their sell-out concert in 2021, the eight-cello group Octocello is bringing the unique sound of many cellos to a concert on April 20th at 7:30 pm in St. Mary’s Church, Thame. The local group will be playing something for everyone, including arrangements of hits by Andy Williams, Mark Ronson, Charles Aznavour and Leonard Cohen, together with classical favourites and a nostalgic film medley. Octocello will be joined by The Voice Section, an a capella choir based in Ealing, singing their varied repertoire of hits. All proceeds from the concert will go to Thames Valley Air Ambulance, in memory of one of the group’s founder members who was tragically killed in a car accident in 2023. Tickets are £12, (£10 for concessions, U16 free) available from The Book House in Thame,…
