Proposals for 89 new homes in Chinnor, Oxfordshire have been approved by local planners.
The homes, on the eastern edge of the village, will be delivered by leading housebuilder Bovis Homes, and will see a total of 53 two to five-bedroom properties for sale on the open market, as well as 36 homes designated as affordable housing, ranging from one-bedroom apartments to three-bedroom houses.
The consented plans will also see Bovis Homes make investments towards bus services, recycling, education and the local library among a package of contributions to the local community.
The new homes will feature knapped flint elevations in keeping with the look and feel of existing properties in the area and the location will include a new play area for younger residents.
Caroline Green, Planning Manager at Bovis Homes Southern Counties region, said: “We’re delighted to have received planning approval for these new homes, and we’d like to thank both South Oxfordshire District Council and Chinnor Parish Council for their collaboration and feedback in ensuring the development will best meet the needs of the local community.
“Work on site will begin imminently, with the first homes expected to be completed in the Autumn,” she added.
