Sustrans, who are partly responsible for the Phoenix Trail along with Oxfordshire County Council, have two exciting events planned in Thame on Friday 3 August.
Between 1pm and 6pm, Sustrans are inviting the local community and businesses to help out on their Volunteer Workday, which will involve cutting back vegetation, cleaning up structures and art works, picking up litter and building wildlife habitats. Tools and gloves will be provided but please bring your own refreshments. If you are interested in attending, you can meet the work party on the day at the Old Thame station (between Thame Park Road and Chinnor Road bridges) or email volunteers-south@sustrans.org.uk.
There will also be an evening bat walk on 3 August between 8:30pm and 11:30pm, although you are welcome to leave at any time. You are invited to discover the nighttime wildlife along the Phoenix Trail – they will be attracting moths using light traps and bat detectors to spot bats! Booking is essential – please do so by emailing volunteers-south@sustrans.org.uk.
