FC Thame beat Aston Clinton 1 – 0 thanks to Sean Coles’ header

FC Thame beat Aston Clinton 1-0 yesterday in the league therefore keeping the pressure on Tottenhoe at the the top of the table.

First half and Thame dominated Aston, consistently breaking them down but unable to find the right final ball, Aston who looked to go long at every opportunity were finding it hard to cope with Thame’s football.

Kynan Isaac was brought down in the box only for the referee to decide it was outside the box despite the advice of the lino and the large contingent watching, he then couldn’t book the player either as he forgot who it was. Thame finally did get there break through when yet another Aston foul was punished as Almonds freekick hit the bar and Sean Coles followed up to head into and empty net with the keeper stranded.

Second half and Thame again started well but still couldn’t apply the killer finish, repetitive fouling when they attacked slowed the game and for some reason the ref seemed happy to let this go without punishment.

Aston did begin to grow into the game and when Shayne Almond was sent off for two yellows they gained the upper hand. As the seconds ran out Aston keeper of all people probably had the best chance when he ghosted in at a corner but was only able to head wide.

So Thame get the job done against a functional and workmanlike Aston, it’s not a surprise there up the top of the table and it will be a tough game over at there place.

FC Thame now look to Wednesday night and Unite MK away with a chance to go top of the league on offer.

Open Doors Thame: Thame Businesses meet the community @ Thame High Street Car Park
What is Open Doors? In 2015 Thame High Street Car Park, and the Chamber in the Town Hall, were filled with local companies opening their doors to the public. A big farm tractor, a fork lift truck, diggers and mowers filled the High Street and drew in the crowds. Printing technology, interactive digital signage, and a host of service providers including marketing consultants and event organisers, were all on display and engaging with the public. People learned about companies they never knew existed, employers met with previous and retired employees, students became aware of future employment options, and the businesses themselves found new contacts and networking opportunities. The public were encouraged to ask questions and get up close and personal to products and services that,…
