An elderly lady had her handbag stolen whilst having a coffee in Thame yesterday.
Ruth Wolfdendale was enjoying a coffee in Treacle’s Tearoom when the thieves struck. The handbag contained £160.00, three pairs of glasses along with various sentimental items from her husband who passed away last year.
Her granddaughter Kayleigh Agace has set up a go fund me page hoping to raise the £160.00 back for her grandmother. At the time of writing £405.00 has been raised, with Thame and the surrounding area, once again showing what a great community spirit it has.
On the go funding page Kayleigh said “My Nanny Ruth Wolfendale’s handbag was stolen from her whilst having a coffee in Treacle’s Tearooms Thame on Thursday 10th May 2018.
The handbag contained £160, three pairs of glasses and sentimental items from her husband who passed away last year.
As you can appreciate this has left Ruth feeling vulnerable and scared. Missing sentimental items that meant the world to her, I would like to try and make the situation feel a little better for her by trying to raise some money to get some new glasses for her!
I am amazed by the community spirit Thame holds and I hope you can share this information to avoid any other elderly/vulnerable people being targeted!
Thank you for taking the time to read this and I can’t thank you enough for your donations.”
