Ben Golding named in Wales Under 18 training squad
CHINNOR youngster Ben Golding has been selected for the Wales Under 18 training squad.
The 17-year-old, who plays for the Colts, is among 15 players who have progressed from the WRU’s Exiles programme.
Golding started playing rugby at Chinnor more than ten years ago and qualifies for Wales through his parents, Nick and Rachel.
Impressing at No 8 for the Colts, the teenager, who was named the most improved player in his squad in 2015/16, has also been starring in the second row for the Exiles.
The coaching team at Chinnor are thrilled at the news.
Colts manager Alex Bond said: “Ben has always been keen to learn.
“He has developed his skills and physicality over many years and become a very capable player.
“Ben carries exceptionally well and is very effective when rucking and mauling. He has come into his own over the last three seasons, playing rugby for school, club and county.
“Everyone is delighted that he has made the Wales U18 training squad.”
