An action group and crowd-funding campaign has officially launched today (25th July) with the aim to re-open the Household Recycling Centre at Bledlow which was closed in March by Buckinghamshire County Council. The group has been set up and led by Bucks County Councillors Bill Bendyshe-Brown and Carl Etholen with support from the leaders of 10 town and parish councils in Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire. Cllr Ann Midwinter from Thame Town Council is a supporter and said “We believe passionately that this is a worthwhile cause and our Council has contributed £500 towards the planning application. Our residents and others around our local area used Bledlow HRC regularly and they feel strongly that they want it to reopen”.
The group requires a minimum of £10,000 for the planning application but significantly more to restore the site to enable it to be used again.
